BONJOUR LIFFRE!

JOUR 2

All good here...trip was smooth and the students were great. More updates later.....off to welcome breakfast. Bring on the croissants :)

PLUS TARD .......

We need to go on a diet already!!!!

For breakfast  we ate croissants and baguette with delicious salty Brittany butter.
We then had a tour of the school to orient the students for their classroom visits next week. Next was lunch in the school cafe, where the students had delicious little toasts with prosciutto-style ham and raclette cheese followed by spaghetti bolognese, cheese and flan au chocolat. Meanwhile in the teachers' dining room Chef Olivier treated us to melt-in-your-mouth veal (braised for 5 hours), linguine and a fricasee of wild mushrooms. followed by a green salad, cheese platter, and rhe chocolate flan .
We declined the glass of red wine that was offered to us - but happily accepted the espresso to keep us awake after such a feast!!!!
We then headed off to Rennes on the local bus. A tour guide took us to the Parlement de Bretagne where we learned about the history of this elegant building and visited the chambers where there were no trials in session.

On our way we home we had just enough time to swing by the local boulangerie/patisserie. Even after our copious and delicious lunch, most of us still felt comprlled  to pick up a treat- all part of the cultural experience !!
