Le college Saint Michel + CAP Multi Sports

Lundi matin - first thing in the morning we met with our students to debrief on their weekend experiences and the  events of the weekend. We pooled our observations about physical differences between homes in France and the U.S., and are happy to report that while many things are very similar, we still were able to find plenty of differences (did you notice the students drinking their hot chocolate out of a bowl at the welcome breakfast?)
The students were then split into groups of three to attend a variety of different classes including Math, French, English, Art, Technology, and Science. While the students reported feeling self-conscious about their French, several teachers complimented them on their language skills. BRAVO!!!
After another tasty school lunch ("compliments au chef Olivier"), we headed out to a kind of gym/fitness center where half the gym is covered in sand (for beach volleyball and children's birthday parties). They played a Survivor-inspired team game involving hunting for marbles ("food") in the sand, a dodgeball-type activity, target practice with a Nerf bow and arrow, and "escaping from the enemy" during races of various types. The finalist was the student who could stay balanced for the longest time on a tree stump partially buried in the sand. it was really fun as you can tell from the photos below.

Check out Mme Elore's blog for more pictures (link below).

Tunnel dodgeball

Surprise birthday cake for Cyriac (Daniel's partner) at the end of the sports activity.
